![]() ![]() The bass is controlled and fast, of course he does't go as deep as my McCormack DNA 1 but he as strength enough to punch you in the stomac if music requires so. Sound: The soudstage is very wide, not to deep tough, but he is able to recreate a soundstage and fill the gap between the speakers like no other mencioned above. I compare it with hes bigger brother, the Denon PMA 720, a Marantz PM6010 OSE KI and a Nad 3020i. I got this amp in 2ยบ hand, i'm using it in a second system with a Marantz CD63 KY and a pair of Mission 751 with Straightwire Raphsody cables. ![]() They simply don't make em like that anymore! The amplifier is 100% original and functioning after 25 years like most of the Denon equipment I own from that era. Did a back to back comparison to the latest 100 watt offering from Nu Prime and the Denon ran all over it. Only on high volume beyond comfortable listening levels, do the wheels come of on this 70 watt amp and manifests itself in the highs becoming a little aggressive. My speakers are huge floor standers which are difficult to drive because of their low impedance, but no problem for this amp. Low and medium volume levels, this is an Absolute sweat sounding amp with with deep controlled bass, warm detailed midrange and crystal clear highs, thanks to Denon's optical class A biasing which keeps this baby singing in full class A at low to medium volumes. Late eighties early nineties, Denon were at their peak, and this little amp is an example of that. As an avid collector and owner of Denon audio equipment, I picked up this little gem for 150$. ![]()
